    FOUNDER & PERSONAL TRAINER

    Mel started her fitness journey as a total beginner, and struggled to make her workouts feel effective and enjoyable. After burning out on endless HIIT sessions and hours on the treadmill, she discovered strength training — and everything changed. It became the key to building confidence, energy, and a sustainable routine that truly worked.

    This transformation inspired MELROSE Training. After becoming a Certified Personal Trainer, Mel left her full-time role as a Registered Nurse to help women experience the life-changing benefits of strength training. Whether you’re aiming to build a stronger core or make fitness a rewarding part of your routine, Mel’s mission is to help you feel empowered in your body, gain strength, and live a healthier, more confident life.

    Mel works closely with the MELROSE Training team and personally joins all client kickoff calls and check-ins, providing an added layer of support in your fitness journey.

    Cherise discovered her love for strength training in high school as a member of the rugby team. From the moment she stepped into the weight room, she found her passion for helping others build strength, confidence, and a positive relationship with fitness.

    With years of experience as a trainer, Cherise takes a balanced and sustainable approach to coaching. She believes fitness should enhance your life, not restrict it, and focuses on helping clients build healthy habits, get stronger, and feel empowered both in and out of the gym.

    Cherise is passionate about guiding you toward your strongest, most confident self - while still enjoying the things you love - and can’t wait to support you on your fitness journey!

  • In your personal training consultation, we’ll discuss your fitness goals, challenges, and experience. You'll meet Mel (our Founder) who will walk you through our training options, answer any questions, and help you decide on the next steps.

    If you’d like, we can also arrange a virtual meet-and-greet with your potential trainer following the call.

    Whether you’re new to fitness or looking to level up, this call is all about you and your goals.

  • Not at all! We welcome all fitness levels. Each workout includes modifications to suit your ability, and you'll receive direct support from your trainer throughout each session to ensure you’re comfortable and safe.

  • To begin, no equipment is necessary! We focus on building the foundations with bodyweight exercises, making it easy to start regardless of your current setup.

    As you progress, we can recommend simple additions like resistance bands or dumbbells to enhance your training. The key is to start simple and grow your home gym as needed, based on your goals and preferences.

  • Each 50-minute personal training session is thoughtfully structured to maximize results and keep you feeling great. Sessions start with a dynamic, tailored warm-up to prepare your body, transition into a strength-focused workout designed to align with your goals, and wrap up with a guided cool-down to enhance recovery and flexibility.

  • Absolutely! At MELROSE Training, we’re proud to support pregnant and postpartum clients with personalized, safe, and effective training programs. Cherise, one of our MELROSE Trainers, is certified in pre- and post-natal fitness and has years of experience working with clients during all stages of pregnancy and recovery.

    Our approach prioritizes your safety and comfort while helping you stay active, build strength, and prepare for the demands of pregnancy and/or postpartum life. If you have specific needs or questions, we’d love to discuss them during your consultation.

  • Engage in effective virtual training sessions via Zoom from the comfort of your own home or residential gym (no equipment needed). Your trainer will demonstrate each exercise, provide live cues & modifications, and offer encouragement throughout as if you were in the gym together!

  • Independent workouts are not permitted to ensure the space remains focused, safe, and fully available for personalized training sessions. If you’d like guidance for workouts to supplement your 1-on-1 sessions, we’d be happy to provide recommendations or explore our virtual coaching options!

  • All our in-person training sessions are  centralized at our private, state-of-the-art studio located in the heart of Yorkville. This move allows us to offer a more focused and exclusive training experience with access to specialized equipment and facilities.

    We also offer virtual training programs which allow you to benefit from our expert guidance and tailored workout plans right in your own gym space.

  • Our focus is on our expertise - fitness training. While we don't offer nutrition coaching or meal plans, we can point you towards reliable, highly-qualified nutrition experts.

  • We understand life comes with its own set of adventures, including travel. Should you need to travel during your 12-week program, we offer the flexibility to accommodate your plans. This includes the ability to reschedule sessions due to illness or travel, with sessions being conveniently added onto the end of your program to ensure you don’t miss out on your training.

  • Our personal training is available to women aged 18 and above.
